We would like help in our retirement planning

Sold our porfolio on 9/29 when the stock mkt. took a beating.
we are 76 and 70 years of age have a good retirement income, but use our portfolo for an yearly vacation. 5,000 a year.
we have a total of 102,00 in a cash acctount.
Would like to invest in in CD ladders of 10,000 falling 5 year
What would a good CD as of today be. and does this sound like a good idea. Hate to ride the stock mkt up and down.
