Legalities of 401K payroll deduction.

Under a direct-deposit payroll scenario, is an employer legally required to do more than a payroll advice insert/flyer to communicate to employees re: the 2 times per year that they can make changes to their retirement contribution (change amount, discontinue, etc.)?

They gave you a reminder notice with you pay stub. Unfortunately, no, they don't need to take the time and expense to send it to you separately by certified mail to get your attention to read them.
