Investments in stocks, mutual funds, and bonds are not FDIC insured. Fidelity does have brokerage CDs that are FDIC insured. If you purchase those CD in your 401k with fidelity, then you should be covered by FDIC insurance. You should contact Fidelity to discuss it with a representative at 800-343-3548. Mervyn's clothing store has put a tempory stop on pay outs from 401k . my employees are concerned that they will never see portions of thier vested balances. are these investments safe?
