Is an existing bill from work already completed for orthodontic work ,including braces, an allowable medical expense for a 401k hardship withdrawal?

The bill must be UNPAID... so as long as the bill states you Owe a specific dollar amount, you can withdraw that amount only... under hardship provisions.
It does not matter if already completed... just cannot be paid....
