If there is no beneficiary named does it go to the spouse?

my husband has 3 different retirement plans that he did not name a beneficiary or have a will when he died. does the money go to the spouse?

Not necessarily. It is more likely that the accounts will go through the probate process. It is not good when you don't name a beneficiary on a retirement account, it is even worse if you don't name one (a designated beneficiary) before September of the year after the year your spouse died.
