Hourly wage

I am an hourly employee and i am being sent out of town for a seminar for the company i work for i will be out for 4 working days am i entitled to get paid my hourly wage for those days

Yes any time you are on company business and that includes seminars for the company all your wages and motel food and all other things must be paid by the company. even travel !

I work as a food server, thus most of my "pay" is in the form of cash (tips) which i do claim and am taxed on.

I am limited on the amount that i can contribute to my 401k by my paycheck, which is a nominal hourly wage and basically covers my tax obligations. how can i contribute the cash portion of my wages into the 401k? i wish to contribute the maximum allowable, which is 16,500 for 2010.

My employer offers as an option in our 401k plan a pcra account through charles schwab.the salary work force has the avai;ability(computer access) to buy or sell stocks while at work.the hourly work force does not have that option.is there any law specifying that the plan being equal?
