Getting Married...Tax Advice Needed We both are single parents who filed head of houshold last year and both got back a decent amount. She quit working in June, has about 6 months of taxes to file, and we plan on getting married on Dec. 28th. As sad as this sounds, we discussed waiting until Jan. to get married if doing so in December will affect our refunds because we both plan on that money each year. Next year she won't be working and I will file married with all dependants...but this year...she will be claiming her own child as her dependant as will I for my child...so what is the best way to file if we do get married 12/28? Married filing seperatley? |
