Father's life insurance, house My father was given 6months to live, so his lady friend asked him to marry her which they did a few days after he found out, so what happens if he put me has beneficary on life insurance, 401k and his house he left for us? |

The 401k and the life insurance beneficiaries do not change with his new marriage, unless he remembers to change them. The house is another matter, as is the rest of his estate. Depending on the state he lives in, his wife has at least 50% rights to his estate (house, other property like cars, furniture, so on). This supersedes any will. However, if he is smart he has already modified his will to take into account his actual wishes and to conform to state law.
