Exemptions

Bob is 45 yrs old and divorced. He paid $600 per month to an assisted living facility where his mother lives. His mothe received $500 in interest during the year. Bob's daughter, age 19, has no income and resided in Bob's houshold for the entire year. Bob's son is a full time student, 23 yrs old and he earned $1000 during the yr from part time work. What is Bob's filing status for the yeat and how many exemptions should he claim on his return?

I would say 1 exemption for Bob's relatives, plus any that he gets for himself.

Bob's Mother: No, cannot claim elderly
Bob's Daughter: No, she must be under 19 at the end of the year.
Bobs' Son: Yes, full time students under the age of 24 qualify if they earn less than $3,300/yr.
