Self insured plands are subject to Federal Cobra laws but not Cal Cobra laws. Self-insured plans come under the jurisdiction of ERISA. For more detaile information see http://www.steveshorr.com/cal_cobra_out_of_state_c ompany.htm. For alternatives to COBRA and what is happening with current legislation, see www.cobrareform.weebly.com
