401k Statement Errors My 401k Statements showed a certain % of vesting. I ended my employment with 80% vesting. Now the management company states they made an error and I am only 60% vested, because my 1st year of employment (2007-2008) I didn't work the required minimum number of hours to qualify. Even the final payout info they sent me showed me vested at 80%. I filled out the paperwork for a rollover and 2 weeks later they sent me a letter saying they made an error and I am only 60%. Because every statement over 3+ years showed the "wrong" % of vesting, are they legally required to pay out the 80%, or do I have to settle for the 60%? |
