401k Hardship withdraw I am currently employed and have a sizeable 401k. I was interested in withdrawing the entire balance as a hardship for the purchase of my firstresidence. I am aware of the taxes, etc. When attempting to do so I was told that the plan is governed by my employers rules and their rule is that I can only take a hardship withdraw on funds that have been in the account more than 24 months. What can I do? |
