Is it legal for an employer to force employees to sell or transfer company stock that was purchased through a 401k plan? My employer has notified their employees that as of 12/31/2010 all employees will be forced to sell or transfer any currently held company stock that was purchased through payroll deduction and/or company matching funds in a 401k plan. If the employee doesn't sell or transfer the stock as of this date it will be done for them. I've asked if this is legal but have not gotten a definitive answer. I need help or advice. Time is running out on resolving this issue. |
