There are hardship withdrawals, but the reasons that meet the requirments are few and usually not your day to day needs --- facing foreclosure, unpaid medical bills, college tuition, or home purchase are usually the only reasons allowed, There are a few exction plans that allow hardship withdrawal for debt consolidation but they are VERY few and far between. You cannot refinance or reammortize a loan.. your plan may allow for more than one loan, but you can only have 1/2 of your balance, maximum of 50k out in loans... not to mention the extra payment coming out of your paycheck to pay it back is not going to help long term cash flow.
