If I withdraw money from my 401K to pay for my daughters college will I be subject to any penalties or taxes

We owe about $30,000 for my daughters college and I wanted to use my 401K to pay those loans off. Can I do this without penalty or taxes? If I do owe taxes or penalty - how much would I have to pay - what percent?

You'd have to pay penalties and taxes if you withdrew it early. so it might not be a wise idea

why not let her pay for her education that she got? it shouldn't be your responsibility
