I will be converting my 401k money, approx. $6,000, from my ex employer to an IRA. Can/should I go Roth? Can I convert the 401k money from my EX employer into a Roth IRA? Should I do this or convert it to a normal IRA? |

401k is from a past employer. i invested in the 401k post tax money. if i move the money to a regular ira and then transfer the money from the ira to a roth ira i will taxed twice.
I have both after tax and pre tax money in a prior employer 401k. i would like to move the pre-tax money to an existing rollover ira. instead of moving the after tax money to a taxable brokerage account i want to move it to a roth ira. can i move $30k of after-tax money to a roth ira without violating...
If you move money out of a 401k and into an ira and you make no changes to the stocks you have, does the money grow at the same rate with the ira as it did with the 401k? also, what are the benefits of an ira over a 401k. in addition, what is the difference in a roth ira and a traditional ira.
