I have a retirement plan from a previous job. Can this be transfered to my 401k or would it be wise to roll it over to an IR

I have an amount in a Parochial Employee Retirement System that can be rolled over to an IRA. Would this be adviseable, or would it serve me better at retirement if I transfered this to my 401k?
