I lost my job after 14 years. i need to know when i can withdraw my 401k. i am 58 1/2 years of age.

After 14 years i was laid off from oakcraft inc. i had a loan against my 401k, however we are in dire straights and need the income. i have reached 58 1/2 years of age. how do i go about withdrawing my 401k and what penalty will i face by doing this? jesus rodriquez
